Data practices

This is the plain-language version of how VerticalEdge Briefing handles the data you share with us. The privacy policy is the formal version; both are kept in lockstep. The same data-request endpoint serves all three Northtide properties — one form, one delete, every pillar.

What we collect

• Your email when you subscribe to the newsletter, via beehiiv. We do not resell email lists, ever.
• Inbound sponsor enquiries — company, contact email, budget, audience details — from the /sponsor form.
• UTM parameters from the URL when you arrive, so we can measure which channels work.

Consent — opt-in, versioned, revocable

Newsletter subscription is the consent. Cancelling unsubscribes you instantly via beehiiv. A subsequent delete request through /data-request purges your row from our sponsor-enquiry ledger and the cross-property Northtide profile.

Aggregation — the n ≥ 25 rule

Sponsor pricing intelligence we publish (rate-card statistics on /sponsor) only ever shows medians + quartiles for cohorts of at least 25 budgeted inquiries. Below that threshold we refuse to recommend — see the quarterly CPM review script in the app README.

What we do NOT do

• We never sell individual rows. No exception.
• We never resell your email.
• We never enrich your data with third-party sources.

Information Officer (POPIA / GDPR / CCPA)

Northtide Data Holdings, LLC has registered an Information Officer for the purposes of Botswana’s Data Protection Act, South Africa’s POPIA, and the equivalent obligations under the EU GDPR and California’s CCPA. The Information Officer can be reached at privacy@northtidedata.com for access, correction, or deletion requests, or use the data-request page for self-service delete.

Versioning

Current consent prompt version: v1-2026-06-17. Any material change to the disclosure copy or the n ≥ 25 floor will increment that version on the day the change ships.
